POSITION SUMMARY
Do you like working with your hands, solving mechanical puzzles, and spending your days high above the slopes? As a Lift Mechanic Helper, you'll assist our experienced lift maintenance crew in keeping our chairlifts running smoothly and safely. You'll help with inspections, repairs, and upkeep while learning the ropes of lift operations from the ground up (and sometimes way up!). This is a great opportunity to build mechanical skills, work outdoors in all kinds of mountain weather, and be part of the team that keeps the mountain moving.

The base hourly pay range below represents the low and high end of the Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's hourly pay range for this position. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to experience, education, training, location, merit system, quantity or quality of production, responsibilities, and regular and/or necessary travel. The range listed is just one component of Steamboat Ski & Resort Corporation's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include many region-specific benefits.
Steamboat Springs area base hourly pay range: $21.00 - $23.00 per hour
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Conduct daily, monthly, and weekly winter operational inspections of assigned lift equipment according to prescribed inspection guidelines and C.P.T.S.B. code
- Assist master and journeyman mechanics in preventative and unscheduled maintenance.
- Become familiar with C.P.T.S.B. and ANSI codes as the pertain to the safe and efficient operations of the tramway
- Duties and responsibilities split between field and shop environment
- Must be able to work nights and weekends
- May work on lifts and/or gondola
- Compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as any regulatory requirements
- Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One year lift operator, or one season experience as a lift maintenance assistant
- Must have a good mechanical/electrical aptitude
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and shop equipment
- Must have valid driver's license without limitations or restrictions and meet company's insurability standards
- Ability to adhere to all safety policies
- 2 years of previous work history/education required
- Communicate clearly in English, both verbal/non-verbal, and written
- Interact and maintain positive relationships with guests, co-workers and management consistent with Steamboat Ski and Resort Company's Service Excellence standards

- High school diploma or GED equivalent required

- Must be able to operate a snowmobile

- Must be able to lift 75lbs at various heights and/or uneven terrain
