Position Title: Design Engineer, Interior Trim Accessories
Location: Onsite. Southfield MI.
Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer with expertise in power electronics for EV and renewable energy applications. This role involves reviewing schematics, PCB designs, and simulations; conducting verification and validation testing; and troubleshooting using lab equipment (battery simulators, power supplies, E-loads, oscilloscopes, etc.). Requires strong root-cause analysis, independent R&D capability, and clear technical communication.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the engineering introduction of new interior trim accessories from concept into production.
- Create cutting edge parts for interior systems focusing on quality, reliability, functionality, mass and cost efficiency.
- Work interactively within a cross functional studio, marketing and vehicle engineering teams, understanding the business case of each particular project.
- Develop and implement benchmarking and testing plans and activities to deliver a continued improvement in product.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or relevant engineering discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in vehicle interior trim accessories or SVO (special vehicle operations) design & development. This includes design related experience with at least some of the following areas: Interior ornamentation, Brightware, Mechanisms, Soft goods.
- Previous experience and background in solving complex technical issues and challenges.
- Proven experience creating complex CAD schemes and models to an excellent standard, preferably using CATIA V5 or V6
- Proven experience with thermoplastic & thermoset resin materials and class A manufacturing technologies (including painting)
- High and Low Volume Production methods.
- Launch experience.
