We are actively building a talent pipeline in preparation for a major project award. While this opportunity has not yet been secured, we are proactively collecting resumes for experienced Equipment Operators to be ready to mobilize quickly once the project is awarded.

JOB SUMMARY

In anticipation of upcoming work, we are seeking skilled Equipment Operators experienced in operating various types of heavy construction equipment--such as backhoes, excavators, bulldozers, loaders, scrapers, compactors, and motor graders. Operators will be responsible for excavating, moving, and grading earth, as well as supporting structure erection or hard surface paving. Some equipment maintenance duties may also be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist with lifting, positioning, and securing materials and workpieces during installation.

  • Operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently to support construction activities.

  • Work on uneven surfaces and in variable site conditions while maintaining control of equipment.

  • Follow hand signal instructions for material placement and equipment movement.

  • Use controls (levers, pedals, hand wheels) to operate machine functions such as blades and buckets.

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance (e.g., greasing, oiling) and minor repairs as needed.

  • Connect hydraulic hoses and fasten equipment attachments securely.

  • Conduct daily equipment inspections to ensure safety and functionality.

  • Pass required equipment certification testing prior to operation.

  • Participate in an annual physical examination.

  • Comply with company and project safety protocols at all times.

  • Perform additional duties as assigned based on project needs.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of OSHA excavation standards and safe operating procedures.

  • Ability to read grading plans and survey stakes preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; CDL may be required.

  • Must be 18 years or older and able to lift up to 60 pounds.

  • Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen; background checks may also apply.

  • Must hold current 40-hour HAZWOPER certification and complete annual 8-hour refresher.

  • Capable of wearing required PPE and respiratory protection while working in all weather conditions.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; must be able to read and perform basic math.

  • Willingness to travel on short notice for extended durations.

  • Minimum 3 years' experience operating at least one of the following: skid steer, rubber tire loader, backhoe, roller/compactor, dump truck, water truck, or off-road truck.

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay range for this position is $ per hour. Compensation depends on several factors including: experience, education, key skills, geographic location of the position, client requirements, external market competitiveness, and internal equity among other employees within APTIM.
