Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Operations Associate to join our dynamic trading team, with a focus on crude oil logistics and waterborne operations. This role will be instrumental in supporting our LATAM / export business, while also providing coverage for pipeline operations in the Permian region.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end waterborne operations and Gulf Coast tankage for crude oil exports and domestic movements, including vessel and barge scheduling, documentation, inspection coordination, and terminal interface.
  • Support US and LATAM-focused trading activities, ensuring smooth execution and compliance with regional requirements.
  • Assist with coverage for pipeline, particularly in the Permian Basin, including nominations, scheduling, and volume reconciliation.
  • Accurately update and maintain Blackstar, our trade capture system and system of record, to ensure operational integrity and alignment with commercial activity.
  • Calculate and manage voyage costs, including pre- and post-fixture estimates, ensuring alignment with commercial expectations and cost control.
  • Liaise with inspection companies, agents, terminals, customs brokers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate execution.
  • Monitor and report operational risks, delays, and discrepancies, escalating as needed.
  • Maintain operational records and contribute to process improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in crude oil operations, preferably in a trading environment.
  • Strong understanding of waterborne logistics and export procedures.
  • Familiarity with pipeline operations and Permian region infrastructure is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Spanish language skills preferred but not required.
