About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Fire Alarm Systems Technician to support fire alarm system operations across large scale DoD construction projects. This role is responsible for the planning, installation, maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and documentation of fire alarm systems, ensuring compliance with design specifications, NFPA standards, and all applicable codes and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
Install and maintain fire alarm systems on active construction sites
Inspect, test, and troubleshoot system components for optimal performance
Ensure all work complies with design specifications, local codes, and NFPA standards
Accurately document work complete and prepare required reports
Collaborate with project teams to support system integration and performance
Travel to regional project sites as needed
What We're Looking For:
Proven experience with fire alarm system installation and maintenance, preferably NICET certified
Strong understanding of NFPA codes and safety regulations
Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Detail-oriented with excellent troubleshooting skills

Compensation is based on specific project location AND WILL FOLLOW DAVIS BACON PREVAILING WAGE REQUIREMENTS, WHICH VARY FROM MILITARY BASE TO MILITARY BASE.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- A high school diploma or GED is the preferred minimum formal education for this position.
- NICET Level I or II in Fire Alarm systems, Manufacturer training, or other relevant certification preferred.
- Three or more years work experience in a Fire Alarm Technician position (e.g., scheduling, ordering, quality control, safety, and production of all phases in construction), over electrical/communications trades on medium or large projects is required.
- Six or more years (or equivalent) field or trade work experience is in the construction industry/FA System manufacturing highly desirable; government, military, or large commercial construction experience preferred. Work in the design-build industry is preferred.
- Computer literacy (Microsoft Office, Outlook, Internet, etc.) preferred. Training can be provided.
- Specific software literacy (Primavera 3/6, Viewpoint, BIM, Revit) preferred. Training can be provided.
- CPR, First Aid Certification required; OSHA 30-hour Certification and EM-385 preferred; Training can be provided.
