ResponsibilitiesTypical Duties and Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:
- Perform detailed structural analysis of original, modified, and proposed structures
- Review work of Associate and Design Engineers in the production of reports and supporting calculations for review and approval by a licensed professional engineer.
- Perform quality assurance reviews of third-party work as part of Vendor QA and evaluate performance
- Develop analysis tools and training presentations, and conduct training sessions
- Lead small to moderate sized projects
- Produce conceptual sketches and detailed designs for the Structural Detailers to develop into design, fabrication, and erection drawings (CAD)
- Review and approve Auto CAD drawings
- Participate in development of engineering processes, standards, and tool programs
- May serve as Project Engineer and as a designated client contact
- Coordinate work with other disciplines such as architectural, mechanical, electrical, etc.
- Handle routine contract administration
- Use computer-assisted engineering design software and equipment to prepare engineering design documents
- Perform field activities such as observing and recording existing field conditions, and taking and verifying measurements within project area
Requirements: Applicants must have successfully graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelors degree in Civil or Structural engineering and have 2+ years of design experience; experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and Adobe Acrobat software; strong written and verbal communication skills; must be strongly proficient with AutoCAD and STAAD or other structural modeling software; must be able to demonstrate AutoCAD drafting work experience in civil land development projects such as residential, commercial, and public works projects; additional CAD experience in Revit or AutoCAD Architecture is a plus. Must possess a valid drivers license.
