116 Job Description

The HVAC Tradesman performs diversified installation, operation, inspection, preventive maintenance, and repair duties for the following areas: heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and related control systems.

Responsibilities and Duties

Receives work orders and coordinates work to fit daily schedule assigned by Supervisor.

Estimates time and materials required on work orders.

Maintains the facility heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related control systems.

Responds to calls from facility departments requesting immediate assistance for heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration problems.

Performs preventive maintenance on related equipment assigned by the Supervisor.

Maintains necessary stock and tools in order to maintain, repair, or replace malfunctioning equipment.

Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition following all prescribed regulations.

Coordinates with other departmental employees on diversified work projects.

Installs air conditioning, refrigeration, temperature, humidity control systems and accessories.

Performs daily rounds of building and related equipment as assigned by Supervisor.

Maintains knowledge on current EPA Regulations regarding refrigerants.

Responds to emergency call-in situations.

Cooperates with members of the department and facility on all emergency conditions regarding patient, visitor and staff safety.

Reports any complications on specific jobs or equipment.

Maintains the facility HVAC and related systems according to state, local and facility regulatory agencies.

Abides by all relevant facility policies and procedures.

Maintains a safe environment for all facility patients, visitors and staff.

Maintains the confidentiality and security of all facility patient related information.

Performs duties in a timely and efficient manner.

Education

High School Diploma required

Experience

Three to five years of experience as a licensed and/or practicing journey level tradesperson preferred

F ive years of commercial, industrial, or health care organization experience preferred

Certification & Licensure

Trades License or Journey Level Trades Certificate is required

Qualifications

Ability to interpret blueprint drawings and sketches required

Ability to provide technical advice to tradespeople required

Ability to manage projects required

Excellent communication (verbal and written) and collaboration skills required
