About the Role:
As a Associate Project Manager, you are responsible for providing advanced administrative support to the project management team. This includes documentation preparation, escalation for commitment, financial modeling, financial reconciliations, and reporting. This job is part of the Project Management function. They are responsible for managing projects from initiation to completion.
Onsite full-time in Mountain View, CA.
What You'll Do
Assist Project Managers to manage facets of construction project management (budget, schedule, procurement, quality & risk, change order process and documentation) for individual projects including planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout.
Demonstrate capability to read, understand, and apply standard documents affecting projects, including but not limited to agreements/contracts, leases, work letters, project charters, surveys, and drawings.
Ability to draft, track, and analyze project schedules, including the creation of a critical path to assess its impact on cashflows and project goals.
Implement project documentation governance aligned with company and client requirements. Ensure project data integrity and documentation is accurate, timely, and coordinated.
Track the progress of each project against goals, objectives, approved budgets, and approved timelines. Reports status and variances. Crafts action plans to meet objectives, budget, and schedule.
Identify project risks, develop risk mitigation and contingency plans, and proactively implement action plans to reduce or eliminate project risks. Solve advanced problems involving several options in complex situations.
The APM role is generally part of a larger project team supporting more senior project managers in the execution of project scope. With more experience an APM may manage smaller projects as assigned or manage third-party project delivery resources/team (typically smaller team) and be responsible for tracking performance and motivating team members.
The APM must have a broad knowledge of their own job discipline. The expectation is that they will already have an understanding and build further knowledge of several job disciplines within the function.
Exhibit a positive impact on the quality of their own work and the work of others on the team.
Work primarily within standardized procedures and practices to achieve objectives and meet deadlines.
Explain complex information to others in straightforward situations.
Other duties as assigned.
Maintain project policies and directives within the project operations manual.
Troubleshoot and resolve internal and external customer inquiries concerning performance reports and project tracking system data. Audit, solicit, and report on key performance indicators.
Schedule internal and external customer training on software applications.
Oversee team close-out procedures.
Prepare complex and special client reports as required.
Train and provide guidance to new and junior team members on policies and administration.
general knowledge of standard principles and techniques/procedures to accomplish assigned tasks and solve routine problems.
Lead by example and model behaviors that are consistent with CBRE RISE values. Work to build consensus and convince others to agree.
Impact the quality of own work and the work of others on the team. Be diligent in protecting sensitive client information and maintain strict confidentiality on all facets of project assignments and the client's business.
What You'll Need:
Bachelor's Degree in a relevant engineering field (Mechanical or Electrical) is highly desired. Instead of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in project management, construction management, engineering, or facilities management.
Lab and critical environment project experience preferred.
Ability to exercise judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
Willingness to take a new perspective on existing solutions.
In-depth knowledge of Google's suite of office applications is preferred.
Experience with eBuilder is preferred.
Sophisticated math skills. Ability to calculate mildly complex figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
Candidates with experience in the high-tech industry will be given preferential
