The primary purpose of this position is to install, maintain, test, troubleshoot, repair, and calibre a variety of utility systems th require intermedie to journey level skills in various utility reled trades such as electrical work, air conditioning equipment repair, heing equipment maintenance, boiler plant maintenance, wastewer trement operion, wer trement operion, and engineering equipment operion.
The utility equipment and systems maintained this level are usually uncompliced but may occasionally have moderely complex maintenance requirements.
The primary intent and purpose of the position is the repair and operion of utility systems such as steam, hot wer, chilled wer, filtered wer, wastewer, air conditioning, heing, electrical, sewer, plumbing, compressed air, vacuum, and gas.
This is a Career-Seasonal position and subject to release and recall procedures. A permanent career-seasonal position includes all the benefits of permanent employment, but does not provide employment on a full year-round basis. As such, selectee in a non-pay/non-duty stus from approximely 11/29 to 03/14. Selectee are guaranteed to work least 6 months per year but not more than 50 weeks per year, with the work schedule to be determined upon appointment. The typical season for Glacier Nional Park is middle of March to end of November, but can be variable during these months due to project requirements or weher conditions.

Wastewer Trement Operors Certifice: You must have the ability to obtain and maintain, within one year, the following: a Ste of Montana Class 4C Wastewer Trement Operor Certificion or Operor-in-Training.

Physical Demands: Work assignments typically require moderely heavy physical effort to lift, carry, or otherwise handle items typically weighing up to 40 pounds. Duties require the incumbent to maneuver into and out of specific locions while dismantling and assembling utility reled equipment. The incumbent makes repairs and installions from ladders, scaffolding, and plforms where the parts of systems worked on are in hard-to reach places. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is typical. Occasionally, climbing and work in high places may be required, as well as the use of hoists, holders, and pulleys when handling large equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is both indoors and outdoors where the incumbent may be subject to prevailing weher conditions. The incumbent may be exposed to biological hazards or diseases while cleaning equipment or shoveling sludge, and hazardous gases such as methane, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide. The incumbent may also be subject to electrical shock, loud noises, acids, and hydraulic fluids while working around motors and pumps. There is exposure to shock, burns, and strains. The incumbent follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as face shields, gloves, hard-toe shoes, respirors, and protective clothing th may be uncomfortable to wear. The incumbent is required to tend and participe in safety meetings and training and review and follow safety regulions and policies prior to using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as goggles, rubber ms, gloves, hard hs and respirors as the jobs require. The incumbent may be required to opere motor vehicles and heavy engineering equipment.
The Nional Park Service has determined th the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or nural disaster.

Physical Demands: Work assignments typically require moderely heavy physical effort to lift, carry, or otherwise handle items typically weighing up to 40 pounds. Duties require the incumbent to maneuver into and out of specific locions while dismantling and assembling utility reled equipment. The incumbent makes repairs and installions from ladders, scaffolding, and plforms where the parts of systems worked on are in hard-to reach places. Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, reaching, and stooping is typical. Occasionally, climbing and work in high places may be required, as well as the use of hoists, holders, and pulleys when handling large equipment.
Working Conditions: Work is both indoors and outdoors where the incumbent may be subject to prevailing weher conditions. The incumbent may be exposed to biological hazards or diseases while cleaning equipment or shoveling sludge, and hazardous gases such as methane, chlorine, hydrogen sulfide, and carbon monoxide. The incumbent may also be subject to electrical shock, loud noises, acids, and hydraulic fluids while working around motors and pumps. There is exposure to shock, burns, and strains. The incumbent follows prescribed safety practices and uses safety equipment such as face shields, gloves, hard-toe shoes, respirors, and protective clothing th may be uncomfortable to wear. The incumbent is required to tend and participe in safety meetings and training and review and follow safety regulions and policies prior to using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as goggles, rubber ms, gloves, hard hs and respirors as the jobs require. The incumbent may be required to opere motor vehicles and heavy engineering equipment.
The Nional Park Service has determined th the duties of this position are suitable for telework only during an emergency or nural disaster.
