RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead clients and project teams through a creative, collaborative, and efficient design process from concept to construction.
- Tackle project challenges with innovative design solutions.
- Balance aesthetics, function, sustainability, health, durability, buildability, schedule, and budget in every decision.
- Foster trust through active listening and open communication.
- Create clear, comprehensive documentation to communicate ideas and decisions.
- Oversee consultants and guide designer-level staff.
- Ensure construction aligns with design intent and documentation.
- Partner with Production staff to enhance buildability, celebrate craft, manage risks, learn from experience, and develop accurate project estimates.
- Experience with light wood frame construction
- Bachelors or Masters degree in Architecture with at least five years of relevant experience
- Licensed to practice in MA or actively pursuing licensure
- Proficiency in BIM software (ArchiCAD preferred; Revit acceptable)
- Fluency with Mac OS, Microsoft Office, and Adobe tools
- US citizenship or a valid work permit (EAD)
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Comfortable with spending at least two days per week at South Mountain headquarters and Marthas Vineyard project sites
