Summary of Duties
Under direction, assists in the coordination of the daily operations of the Child Study Center; enforces regulations under the Child Care Program guidelines; implements and maintains an appropriate learning environment for the children; and performs related work as required. SCOPE: The Child Study Center Site Supervisor establishes classroom policies and procedures for children's development and safety; ensures Center maintains proper license requirements and implements State regulations.

- Coordinates the daily operation of the Child Study Center and other assigned sites, when applicable.
- Implements CDE and ensures adherence to state licensing regulations.
- Maintains clean, orderly, and safe conditions in all areas of the childcare facility.
- Reports suspected child abuse to the relevant authorities.
- Oversees the daily food program, ensuring it meets children's nutritional needs. Provides food substitutions for children with dietary restrictions. Trains staff on handling food allergies and accommodating dietary needs.
- Ensures adequate staffing in accordance with enrollment numbers and regulatory requirements.
- Monitors and supports Child Study Center Specialists in maintaining high-quality teaching methods aligned with program goals.
- Provides developmental feedback to parents and communicates concerns.
- Advises parents on available program services and refers them to community agencies as needed.
- Conducts parent-teacher conferences as required by program regulations.
- Ensures accurate reporting of attendance and financial information.
- Monitors family enrollment records.
- Coordinates and conducts staff meetings to facilitate ongoing communication.
- Works in classrooms as a substitute Child Study Center Specialist when necessary.
- Oversee the assessment of children's development through observations, assessments, and portfolios to complete the DRDP biannually, ensuring that individualized learning plans are created.
REQUIREMENTS
- Any Bachelor's degree; and
- A valid/current California Child Development Site Supervisor or Program Director Permit; and
- Minimum two (2) years' teaching and supervisory experience in a preschool program; and
- Valid/Current Pediatric CPR/First Aid Certificate or ability to obtain certification within the first academic year of employment; and
- Demonstrated sensitivity to and an understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability and ethnic backgrounds of community college students and the campus community.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or Child/Human Development is highly desirable
- Thorough knowledge of child development theory and its applications to early education
- Bilingual ability to communicate effectively in English/Spanish or any other foreign language
- Adept at digital photography, PowerPoint, and other forms of documentation of children's learning
- Strong interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Knowledge of state and federal regulations that pertain to the California State Preschool Program, including Title 5 Child Development Division regulations, Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations, Child and Adult Care Food Program Guidelines, Desired Results Developmental Profile, California Preschool Learning Foundations, Early Childhood Environment Rating Scale (ECERS)

SCHEDULE
18.75 hours per week; schedule still to be determined.
SALARY
Hourly Rate: $45.59 - $50.29; depending on experience
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
Prior to employment, the selected candidate will be required to complete the following:
- In accordance with Federal Law all employees must provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States.
- Criminal Justice/Fingerprint Clearance. Must pass fingerprint clearance test for all appropriate agencies (such as FBI, Department of Justice, Child Abuse Index Services).
- California Education Code, Section 87408.6 requires persons employed by a community college in an academic or classified position to submit to a TB risk assessment developed by CDPH and CTCA and, if risk factors are present, an examination to determine that he or she is free of infectious TB; initially upon hire and every four years thereafter.
- DISASTER SERVICE WORKERS: All Marin Community College District (MCCD) employees are designated Disaster Service Workers through state and local law ( California Government Code Section 3100-3109 ). Employment with the MCCD requires the affirmation of a loyalty oath to this effect. Employees are required to complete all Disaster Service Worker-related training as assigned, and to return to work as ordered in the event of an emergency.
