Structural Project Engineer - Bridge Design

Position Summary : Responsible for engineering design using knowledge of general engineering principles and practices to interpret, organize, execute, and coordinate assignments with limited supervision. Acts as a technical advisor to less experienced engineers. Responsible for or assisting with delivering project objectives for assigned projects including scope, schedule, and budget.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, conduct or coordinate detailed phases of the engineering work in a part of a major project or in a total project of moderate scope.
• Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects/tasks
• May perform structural inspections/field investigations (if needed) and develop related reports
• Performs structural analysis and design computations
• Design projects in accordance with client specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools
• May perform CADD work in the development of construction plans, as needed
• Develop or review the construction cost estimate.
• Prepare and compile contract plans, specifications and estimates
• Coordinate with internal team members to ensure project completion by the defined deadline and established quality
• Participate in client meetings and presentations
• May perform CADD work in the development of construction plans, as needed.

• Attend meetings with clients and assist taking meeting minutes
• Coordinate with other disciplines and understand how they fit into the project and design.
• Quality review of project design in accordance with the Project Management Plan.
• Technical oversight and guidance/support of Design Engineers within department

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Proficient in discipline specific design software (e.g. LEAP Bridge Enterprise, LPile, MDX, CSiBridge, Merlin DASH, Bentley Microstation and /or OpenRoads/Bridge software)
• Proficient in Microsoft Office
• Written and communication skills
