Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
The Manager/Director of Corporate Development drives the College's corporate and foundation fundraising and sponsorship efforts. Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Institutional Advancement/Executive Director of the Foundation, this role cultivates strategic partnerships, secures funding opportunities, and aligns support with the College's priorities.Focused on both immediate and long-term goals, the Manager/Director identifies prospects, develops compelling proposals, and maintains strong relationships with corporate and foundation partners. This position works closely with College leadership to match partnership and sponsorship opportunities with campus-wide needs, ensuring innovative and mutually beneficial collaborations.

  • Identify and research prospective corporate sponsors, CSR executives, and foundations to develop targeted solicitation strategies for donations, corporate grants, and sponsorships.
  • Maintain and manage a portfolio of at least 100 corporate, business, and foundation prospects, with a focus on cultivating new funders and expanding support from existing partners.
  • Design and oversee a comprehensive fundraising strategy to engage local corporate partners, with a goal of generating at least $250,000 annually in support of the Colleges key initiatives and events.
  • Utilize effective fundraising or sales prospecting techniques to move prospects from qualification to solicitation, with an emphasis on securing five- and six-figure gifts.
  • Qualify, cultivate, solicit, and steward corporate and foundation partners to advance the mission and goals of the College.
  • Provide personalized stewardship, including hosting small events, delivering progress reports, and creating customized recognition pieces for partners and donors.
  • Collaborate with the Communication Manager and Associate Vice President to create a comprehensive donor stewardship plan, including customizable sponsorship benefit reports following events.
  • Ensure all sponsor recognition commitments are fulfilled.
  • Engage Foundation Board members, alumni, and community volunteers in corporate solicitation activities, as appropriate.
  • Work with Advancement leadership to identify College funding priorities as defined by leadership, faculty, and staff.
  • Record advancement activities by entering detailed updates and call reports into the Blackbaud NXT database, and participate regularly in moves management meetings.
  • Assist in planning and implementing special cultivation, recognition, and fundraising events for the College.
  • Contribute to the development of marketing materials and other promotional pieces to support fundraising efforts.
  • Supervise a staff of 12 employees.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications:

    • Education
      • Bachelor's Degree required.
      • Master's Degree and/or CFRE certification preferred.
    • Experience
      • Experience in strategic fundraising with demonstrated success that includes individual, business & corporate solicitation, foundation fundraising, as well as board development and volunteer management required.
      • 3-5 years of supervisory experience required.
      • 5-7 years of experience in corporate fundraising, sponsorship development & building relationships is required, 8-10 years preferred.
      • Strong oral and written communication skills with ability to build relationships required.
      • Strong organizational skills required.
      • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality required.
      • Experience in a higher education environment preferred.

    Working Conditions:

  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint), and Raisers Edge.
  • Primarily office environment; primarily sedentary in nature.
  • This position requires a background check and drug screen.

    Hiring Range:
    14 Salary/Starting salary beginning at $97,373, based on experience

    Competitive starting pay is dependent on education and experience.
