Job DescriptionProvide electrical support for electrical systems and equipment. Support includes troubleshooting, repairing, installing, and inspecting electrical systems and equipment. Systems include 115kV substation - 24 volts, and low voltage class indoor/outdoor electrical equipment, generators, transformers, switchboards, controllers, circuit breakers, motors, heating units, conduit and raceway systems, fire alarm, power metering, access control, lighting control, and CCTV.
This team provides 24 hour/7 days a week on-call services. This role is anticipated to be 40 hours a week with periodic and pre-planned on-call rotation.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Design and build electrical installations without engineering support.
Plan, organize, coordinate, and install electrical projects throughout the lab.
Provide quality assurance for construction projects.
Perform electrical inspections for new construction and electrical modifications done by subcontractors and lab personnel.
Work from blueprints, drawings, layouts, or other specifications, working standard computations relating to load requirements of wiring or electrical equipment, and using a variety of electrician's hand tools and measuring and testing instruments.
Follow and enforce NRELs EHS policies and procedures to maintain and ensure a safe working environment.

Basic Qualifications Relevant Associate's Degree or certification program of comparable scope in construction, mechanical or electrical technology and 4 or more years of experience or equivalent relevant education/experience. Full knowledge of general maintenance. Basic knowledge of facility systems and mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment. Basic troubleshooting skills. Ability to read blueprints. Basic project administration skills. Very good team and interpersonal skills.* Must meet educational requirements prior to employment start date.

Registered Masters Electrician License in the State of Colorado
Ability to build small industrial and laboratory custom control panels under engineering supervision.
Associate degree or certification program of comparable scope in electrical technology or equivalent relevant experience.
NICET Level II Fire Alarm Systems certificate
Electrical Inspectors License
Registered Journeymans Electrician License in the State of Colorado plus a minimum of 5 years of Journeyman experience
Demonstrated progressive knowledge of electrical codes including NFPA 70, 70E, 72, and 79
Experience as an industrial/maintenance electrician. Familiar with PLCs, industrial control panels and installation.
Experience with computer-controlled systems such as building automation systems.

Annual Salary Range (based on full-time 40 hours per week) Job Profile: Facilities Tech III / Annual Salary Range: $56,800 - $93,700NREL takes into consideration a candidates education, training, and experience, expected quality and quantity of work, required travel (if any), external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees.
