Parsons is looking for a Sr Engineering Project Coordinator Stray Current, Corrosion Control and Grounding for some exciting project in the Rail and Transit Business Unit.
Job Description:
- Coordination of the design with the construction requirements.
- Tracking and modifying specifications and follow-up on all activities including manufacturing, factory testing, field installations, calculations of field testing, installation and Testing & Commissioning (T&C) for the discipline.
- Ensure proper integration with the interfacing systems.
- Perform duties without supervision.
- Assist in tracking and organizing multiple projects, ensuring the Project Manager has a clear overview of job statuses and deadlines.
- Maintain and update tracking tools, spreadsheets, and reports for monitoring project progress.
- Coordinate meetings, follow-ups, and task reminders to keep projects on schedule.
- Summarize key updates and ensure timely communication of project developments.
- Organize digital and physical project documentation for easy access and reference.
- Collaborate with internal teams to gather and consolidate project details.
- Support workflow efficiency by identifying areas for improved organization and tracking.
- Interfacing with clients, contractors and fellow engineers in other disciplines.
- Assist with managing and leading large-scale light and heavy rail projects related to Stray Current.
- Providing other stray Current, corrosion control and grounding design support as needed.
- Create cost estimates, develop Scope of Work documents, retrieve progress from Stray Current elements and field installation.
- Track progress for design, ICDs, RFIs, procurement, installation and other relevant documents.
- Review the subcontractor(s) documents and administer into review process with the relevant parties: lead designer, RAMS, Quality, T&C, etc.
- Review and follow through the subcontractor(s) and Installers schedules, both main schedules and 3-week look-ahead
- Work with the Installation team to ensure that Field Change Requests (FCR) that arise get answered timely.
- Coordinate field activities between Stray Current designer, installer and Interfaced systems (internals and externals).
- Follow applicable safety policies and procedures and enforce their application by subcontractor(s) and direct reports.
The qualifying candidate must be capable of
- Assisting with design and project coordination for both DC heavy and light rail stray current mitigation
- Assist in the day-to-day activities required for the delivery of the Stray Current System package and acceptance testing within the allotted Time and Budget,
- Must ensure level of Quality and Safety and in compliance with the contract and any applicable requirements.
Required Skills:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 10 yrs minimum related experience in the field
