The Construction Quality Manager
The QM will be responsible for the development of a quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) Plan to ensure that all work has been reviewed.
It is preferred that this individual have American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification (e.g., CQE, CQA, CMQ/OE) or be ISO-9000 Lead Auditor certified by the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB).
This individual must have performed the QM role on at least two similar projects within the past five years.
The project scope includes roadway, culver and bridge reconstruction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in engineering, architecture, construction or project management, transportation, or a related field
- Hold a valid New York State Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Prior quality experience with Roadway, Bridge and Culvert construction projects
- Has NICET or other recognized certification and at least 5 years of relevant construction inspection or equivalent experience
- OSHA-30 certification
- Strong writing and communications skills are critical as is the ability to work with a wide range of computer software systems including: Word, Excel, Adobe, Bluebeam Revu Studio, and Microsoft Outlook.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and inspect construction processes and materials to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Support the Quality Officer in conducting / participating in project quality audits including attending audit meetings and preparing documents
- Take necessary action as may be required to prevent installation of materials / equipment which have not been properly approved
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to address defective or otherwise unacceptable work and/or materials and address other field quality issues
- Recommend whether further installation of defective work or material be suspended until satisfactory corrections are made to address quality issues
- Submit periodic quality assurance reports to management indicating the status of activities and detailing non-conformances and deficiencies identified
Compensation Range:
