Responsibilities:
Joining our team as a Structural Engineer at Salas O’Brien offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience, expand your technical expertise, and contribute to impactful projects alongside industry leaders. In this role, you will support project managers and collaborate with engineers, designers, clients, and vendors to deliver high-quality structural designs and construction documents. Responsibilities include performing structural analysis and design across multiple materials, preparing drawings and calculations, managing project schedules and budgets, and responding to RFIs and field questions. You will participate in meetings, site visits, and client interactions while ensuring safety, constructability, and code compliance. This position also involves learning and applying design software, refining technical skills, and continuously developing knowledge of structural codes and practices to support successful project execution and client satisfaction.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Excellent communication skills with an understanding of teamwork and the requisite ability to coordinate work with internal and external project stakeholders.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with engineering analysis tools is beneficial.
- Adaptability to changing priorities and tasks, with a readiness to perform duties onsite or at project locations as needed.
- Strong organization skills to effectively manage time and resources in the most efficient manner. The ability to multi-task on several projects and adapt to changing scope and deadlines. Diligent taking of notes during project discussions. Efficient and organized email communications.
