We are currently seeking a Product Development Manager to be located onsite at our Clinton, Tennessee facility.

Responsibilities include:

Staff planning and development:

  • Develops KRA's, long-term objectives, and annual goals for direct reports in-line with company objectives and goals.
  • Develop and maintain training programs in-line with company objectives.
  • Ensure effective performance management for direct reports.
  • Provides input to senior management on long-term objectives and goals.
  • Technical resource for staff and other groups.
  • Allocates resources to meet requirements.

Product Development Management

  • Coordinates product development projects with sales and marketing priorities. Meets on-time and turnaround goals.
  • Obtains technical information from vendors, customers, and manages inside and outside testing priorities.
  • Provides updates to leadership and sales and production managers.
  • Enforces work per standardized work instructions.
  • Interprets and presents technical results and presentations.
  • Maintains robust R&D program with stage-and-gate steps and monthly updates.

Analytical management

  • Maintains ISO 17025 certification.
  • Meets turnaround and on-time delivery targets.
  • Maintains correspondence and information to certifying body
  • Ensure standards, training records, equipment lists, and external document list is up-to-date and correct.
  • Investigates complaints and implements corrective and preventive action.
  • Obtains customer satisfaction surveys and management reviews.

Budget control

  • Develops and meets budget targets, especially training and travel.
  • As required negotiates best contracts with vendors for equipment purchases, maintenance, and calibrations.

Miscellaneous

  • Participates in assigned company initiatives.
  • Other as required.

Education/Experience

  • Chemistry or Engineering master's degree or Ph.D. with a minimum of 5 years' experience in plastics or related field and analytical testing.

Skills, knowledge and Ability:

  • Ability to guide work and lead employees.
  • Ability to set goals and train employees.
  • Experience in analytical testing, interpretation and presentation of data.
  • Experience in product development.
  • Experience in sustainability teams.

Salary Range: $110K-$150K
