Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader

You will serve as a Marine Machinery Mechanic Leader in the Control Surfaces/ Missile Support Systems (38D), Auxiliary Systems (Shop 38A), Seawater Systems (Shop 38B), Propulsion Steam Systems (Shop 38C), And Air Hydraulics / Ac & Refrigeration Systems (Shop 38F) Mechanical Division (TRF-320), Repair Department (TRF-300)
of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY.
Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. Qualification requirements emphasis is on quality of experience, not necessarily the length of time.

• Experience applying a variety of methods, procedures, and techniques to layout, install, overhaul, repair, and maintain various types of marine machinery equipment and/or components.
• Experience relaying instructions from the shop supervisor to the workers to ensure that schedules and/or completion dates are met in a proper and safe manner.
• Experience using machine tools for onsite milling, grinding, machining, facing, boring, and/or drilling, along with the use of various portable machines.
• Experience working from blueprints, technical manuals, sketches and/or specifications using shop math, trade theories, industrial practices and associated background subjects in calculating needed material.
• Experience planning and laying out work orders associated with the overhaul, repair, and maintenance of submarine machinery and equipment.
• Experience rebuilding, refurnishing, or replacement of worn or damaged parts and making templates, jigs, and other aids for use in repairs and installations.
