Gray AES is seeking to add a Mechanical Engineer to its team, with the position based in one of our offices located in Atlanta, GA, Birmingham, AL, Cincinnati, OH, Charlotte, NC, Dallas, TX, Lexington, KY or Louisville, KY.

Who we want (Requirements)

  • Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineering License is required.
  • 4+ years of experience in mechanical design or engineering.
  • Basic proficiency in 3D building modeling software (e.g., Revit) and experience with BIM workflows
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems and building codes (e.g., IBC, ASHRAE, NFPA).
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager to learn in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications

What we expect (Essential Functions)

  • Assist senior engineers in understanding project requirements and client needs.
  • Support the development of mechanical and plumbing system designs.
  • Use BIM and AutoCAD to incorporate designs into project models and drawings.
  • Help perform energy and load calculations under supervision.
  • Select and schedule mechanical equipment with guidance.
  • Participate in cost and value analysis discussions with the project team.
  • Research and analyze design proposals and specifications for feasibility.
  • Support estimating and bid package preparation.
  • Review subcontractor proposals and construction documents for compliance.
  • Other duties as assigned.
