Rochester Civil Design Engineer Supervisor

This is a senior-level, supervisor engineering position and is responsible for engineering work related to the planning, design, and construction of Public Works programs and capital improvement projects.

Responsibilities include leading, managing, and directing the work of assigned employees in design, survey, and material testing disciplines, conducting complex engineering calculations to determine compliance with local, federal, and state requirements, leading, managing, designing, coordinating public infrastructure projects, completing engineering administrative functions, and being the engineer of record for internally-led design projects.

This position will collaborate with other city departments and divisions and represent the City positively in relationships with developers, consultants, citizens and other agencies. While primarily in the office, the Civil Design Engineer Supervisor will conduct site inspections and reviews.
