Machine Operator (Slicing/Wire Saws) Job Description This Machine Operator position involves running multiple pieces of equipment and machinery to perform silicon ingot slicing. It takes place in a semi-cleanroom environment requiring operators to wear PPE including safety glasses or goggles, latex or Nitrile and nylon gloves, safety shoes, and hair covers. Use of ear plugs is optional. Operators are responsible for following complex, detailed procedures and completing documentation per specifications to meet daily targets on time and without defects. They will be cross-trained to eventually become certified to rotate among multiple process areas within the department. This is a 12-hour Night Shift position, 6pm to 6am, on a compressed workweek schedule alternating 3-ON/4-OFF and 4-ON/3-OFF weekly schedules, requiring work every other weekend with potential additional overtime. Responsibilities Follow complex, detailed procedures and complete documentation to meet daily targets. Operate and maintain multiple pieces of equipment and machinery. Monitor, analyze, and verify all data and processes for quality and order specifications. Operate robotic or automated equipment to manage ingots, wafers, tools, and other equipment. Clean equipment and area to meet manufacturing process standards. Perform physical tasks such as exerting force, walking, standing, and handling heavy equipment. Input data into Excel and complete computerized forms and labels. Ensure safety protocols are followed and report any unsafe conditions. Identify and report quality issues and suggest improvements. Communicate effectively in English with management and co-workers. Essential Skills Experience in machine operation and manufacturing. Proficiency in computer use, including Microsoft Excel and Outlook. Mathematical aptitude for calculations using a calculator or software. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Prior production experience is preferred. Ability to speak, read, and write effectively in English.
