Duties & Responsibilities :

1. Troubleshoots, installs, removes, repairs, modifies, adjusts, inspects, and tests such components as regulors, flow indicors, actuor motors, thruster and positioning mechanisms, se actuors, capult guiderails, ejection ses, rocket packs, and canopies, etc. Inspects for safety, serviceability and maintainability of systems prior to installion, removal, repair, or adjustments of components and insures proper installion and positioning of safety pins, initiors, simulors, and disarming mechanisms. Visually inspects ballistic lines, tubes, hoses, and linkage for damage, deteriorion, restrictions, and security of connections and mountings, and performs corrective maintenance as required. Stores egress explosives IAWAFOSH standards.

2. Inspects pressurizion system air pressure gauges for sufficient pressure and bottles and regulors for general condition and serviceability. Checks canopy and capsule structure and associed seals, lches, and locks for damage and security. Installs and maintains Jet Assistance Take Off (JATO) systems when applicable. Isoles the malfunction and takes necessary corrective action. Positions, repairs, and adjusts required aerospace ground equipment, such as rail extensions, hoists, slings, dollies, and trailers used in performing maintenance tasks.

3. Performs installion, modificion, and repair of aircraft egress systems. Solves unusual installion and maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, schemic and wiring diagrams, applicable technical publicions, and analyzing construction and opering characteristics of egress systems. Selects proper maintenance and repair procedures and corrects the malfunction and/or defective equipment. Diagnoses recurring malfunctions and recommends corrective action by initiion of Quality Deficiency Reports, proposed modificions, or other approprie action. Performs Time Compliance Technical Orders(TCTO'S) reled to egress systems.

4. Performs maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, repair, modificion and periodic servicing of airmunitions and munitions systems applicable to reconnaissance aircraft. Accomplishes receipt, identificion, inspection, storage and delivery of applicable munitions. Delivers unserviceable or serviceable excess ammunition to authorized disposal activity.

5. Schedules periodic maintenance of aircraft munitions systems when notified by Maintenance Control of inspections due. Inspects munitions required for reconnaissance flights. Advises on technical questions reled to reconnaissance ainunitions. Analyzes difficult malfunctions and performs electrical ring-out of reconnaissance munitions systems, e.g., breech blocks, bomb racks, and drop tanks. Whenever munitions are installed, test electrical circuitry for normal operion of systems equipment and tests for absence of unwanted electrical signal or power prior to connecting electrically actued reconnaissance mission munitions.

6. Loads cartridges, flares, etc., into aircraft systems and removes if not used in flight, following applicable handling, loading, and checkout procedures. Insures compliance with operional policies, maintenance directives, technical instructions, and standard opering procedures. Attaches and adjusts required airmunitions stabilizing, control, and safety devices, i.e., drop tank pins, photo flash door cranks and pins, center line safety pins, etc. Assures all switches in aircraft controls are off when servicing munitions. Assures aircraft is properly grounded to avoid stic electricity. Operes handling and loading equipment and performs minor maintenance on same.

7. Enforces safety, fire, security, and housekeeping regulions. Insures th merial and equipment are properly and safely stored, protected, and maintained.

8. Reviews bench stock to determine adequacy and to determine required renewals/deletions to accomplish programs. Inventories, provides security, and monitors the condition of assigned equipment. Maintains and reviews publicion files of applicable technical orders, regulions, manuals, and local directives.

9. Assists in training of Drill Stus Guardsmen. Assists in training of technician augmentees for emergency arming/de-arming of cartridges.

10. Prepares for or participes in various types of readiness evaluions such as ORI, IG and UE inspections, mobility, and command support exercises. May be required to perform such additional duties as structural fire fighting, aircraft fire/crash/rescue duty, security guard, snow removal, munitions loading and handling, heavy equipment operor, maintenance of facilities and equipment, or serve as a member of a team to cope with nural disasters or civil emergencies.

11. Performs other as duties as assigned.

Qualificions

GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Must possess experience or training which demonstres the applicant's ability to repair malfunctions of ordnance equipment and components; ability to use sketches, electrical diagrams, technical specificions and engineering drawings; experience which demonstres skill in the use of test equipment to make electrical, hydraulic, and pneumic checks.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must possess least Eighteen (18) months of experience or training in planning and layout of repair sequence and ability to complete modificion, repair, and installion of ordnance systems; experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting malfunctions and determining remedies where complex relionships exist; experience in hand tools and the use of a variety of measuring and test equipment; experience in interpreting technical directions, blueprints, sketches, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's specificions.
