" - Civil Engineering Technician "Having the feeling that my voice matters and believing that SEH truly cares about the employees is so satisfying!" - Sr Financial Analyst "It feels good having colleagues and supervisors that provide support and resources for growth and learning!" - Civil Engineer "This is the first company I've worked for with a true entrepreneurial spirit." - Sr Mechanical Engineer Why you'll love SEH: Collaborate on amazing projects of varying size and complexity that positively impact communities Being 100% employee-owned means we all share in the company's success Career development through continued education, licensure/certification, skills, and technical training Work arrangements that promote work/life balance Flexible holidays enable individuals to tailor their festivities Paid Family Leave provides time to care for loved ones, whether family by birth or family by choice This Opportunity: Part-time/seasonal opportunity: Less than 25 hours per week ; schedule may vary based on project needs and weather conditions Obtains land survey data, such as angles, elevations, points, and contours, using electronic distance measuring equipment and other surveying instruments Places and recovers markings, stakes and other such signifiers at work locations Compiles notes, sketches, and records of survey data obtained and work performed Performs intermediate level survey work under general supervision of a Professional Land Surveyor Reads and interpret plats, legal descriptions, plans and specifications with minimal guidance Performs basic computations with guidance May perform research and acquire land records from various government agencies as directed Creates base maps and staking packages in computer aided software with guidance Identifies potential construction staking issues and determine a solution with guidance from higher-level staff and/or Professional Land Surveyor Essential Qualifications: Vocational or Technical training in Surveying Technology, Geomatics, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver's license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH's Driving Program. Ability to work overtime as needed Must have good communication skills and be able to work independently Must be able to remain in stationary position as well as traverse through rough terrain commonly found on construction sites Must be able to physically transport a minimum of 50 lbs Must be able to work in outdoor weather conditions 8-12 hours a day Must be able to perceive complete color spectrum on a computer/device screen Ability to travel as needed for projects, team meetings and overnight stays to support out-of-town work Preferred Qualifications: Two (2) years of field and/or office survey experience Experience in basic surveying procedures including boundary / land surveys, topographic surveys, construction staking methods using Total Stations and Global Positioning Systems (GPS) Experience in drafting, completing computations and an understanding of plans and easement descriptions. Field experience with Trimble Survey Equipment Working knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation, Trimble Business Center and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, etc.) This position requires an MVR records check verifying that you possess a valid driver's license and a driving record which meets the requirements of SEH's Driving Program.
