Machine Operator Job Description As a Machine Operator, you will operate various machines to produce agricultural products. You will primarily work with large industrial press machines, using pedals and buttons to punch out or mold products. Your role involves loading conveyors with raw materials for processing, using tongs to handle heated materials, and quenching products in a water solution before moving them to the finishing department. You will utilize your knowledge of routings, bill of materials, and feed systems to meet production expectations, and occasionally reference blueprints. Responsibilities Operate large industrial press machines to produce agricultural products. Load conveyor with raw materials for processing through an industrial oven. Quench heated materials in a water solution and move them to the finishing department. Meet production expectations using knowledge of routings, bill of materials, and feed systems. Assist in moving materials and products manually, using a hoist or forklift. Start machines and observe operations to detect misalignment or malfunction. Complete quality checks in accordance with company standards. Clean and lubricate machines and tooling as required and perform routine maintenance once trained. Essential Skills Experience with machine operation and press operation. Familiarity with press brake and punch press. Knowledge in steel fabrication, general labor, and manufacturing processes. Ability to read and understand blueprints. Proficiency in using hand tools and measuring equipment like tape measures.
