Mechanic 1 Perform difficult mechanical electrical repairs, installation, and replacement of equipment and systems. Instruct, coach, & mentor mechanics on difficult repairs and troubleshooting procedures. Troubleshoot, repair, engineer, build, and install VFDs, soft starters, motor starters, and all types of electrical control panels; electric valve actuators; Perform and instruct advanced level mechanical and/or electrical repairs, replacement and overhaul of equipment and systems; Perform basic and advanced plumbing; basic welding; electrical tasks; rigging; carpentry; Installs and maintains industrial drive components; Operate heavy equipment including skid steer loaders, back hoes, mini excavators, excavators, forklifts, and dump trucks; Perform on-call responsibilities Mechanic 2-4 Assist mechanics in performance of their duties to gain knowledge and experience in mechanical and electrical procedures and applications and location, inspection and maintenance of water and sewer lines and appurtenances, including field measurements. Assist mechanics in the repair and replacement of an infrastructure water distribution and wastewater collection system Assist in all aspects of basic pump or pipeline repair, equipment repair, installation replacement, and preventive maintenance; valve exercising, valve flushing, clean up response, Perform basic plumbing tasks; basic welding tasks; basic electrical tasks; basic carpentry tasks; Operate equipment and machinery in a safe and effective manner Maintaining and cleaning vehicles and equipment Snow removal, brush clearing, and landscaping duties as needed Performs tasks with a team-oriented attitude

WORK ENVIRONMENT Work involves frequent operation of a vehicle, occasional walking on construction sites, industrial facilities, cross-country easements or dams over difficult terrain, steep slopes and occasionally in inclement weather conditions, including extreme outside temperatures, wet and/or humid conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, high and precarious places, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, outside weather conditions, confined spaces, potential explosions, and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate, however, there is exposure to operating noise and construction noise from time to time.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS An employee is an essential employee and must respond to emergencies when needed. Travel to different locations, meetings with regulatory agencies, or attending professional or technical meetings is expected. Required to accept assignments based on the needs of the Authority. Required to be present at work location during scheduled work hours regardless of inclement weather.
