Molex is seeking a Project Engineer to support the development of new and existing twinax products. In this role, the Project Engineer will coordinate project transfers from the design center to volume manufacturing in either Molex Guadalajara or Molex Philippines. They will support all projects in development, including product testing, generating models, datasheets, and engineering changes, as well as other technical documents.

Location : This is an onsite role based at our Arkansas Design Center in Conway, Arkansas.

What You Will Do

  • With some guidance from the Engineering Manager, develop new twinax product designs and manage product extensions.
  • Ownership of critical path technology items plans and oversees progress of projects against schedules.
  • Coordinate with external suppliers on twinax design, support site visits and audits, and twinax evaluation
  • Interface with Molex Production plants and twinax supplier on twinax improvements, quality issues, performance, and design.
  • Interface with Molex Sales teams and customers, create presentations outlining twinax performance and metrics.
  • Work with different cross-functional teams globally to ensure that the twinax component works in the overall assembly design
  • Create 3-D models and drawings for twinax products.
  • Test and evaluate twinax products from various suppliers. Dimensional and Electrical analysis.
  • Provide model/drawing support for tooling design and development for taping & cabling manufacturing lines (folding tools, closing dies)
  • Raw material evaluation and development.
  • Support marketing/sales with product proposals, samples and technical literature.
  • Participates in design review meetings.
  • Provide technical direction for twinax manufacturing processes when necessary for facilities located in GDL and PHL.
  • Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) Management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.

Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • CAD experience
  • Familiarity with different types of test equipment: multimeter, oscilloscope, VNA, etc
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

What Will Put You Ahead

  • 2+ years of relevant work experience
  • Wire and cable experience with a focus on twinax manufacturing
  • Knowledgeable about mechanical PCB design parameters as they pertain to high speed circuits and manufacturing
  • Working knowledge in the twinax manufacturing process
  • Good knowledge of materials used in the wire and cable manufacturing process (dielectrics, foil tapes, mylars, wire)
  • Experience in designing twinax cables
  • Demonstrate competency in ASME Y14.5 GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)
  • Experience with RF/microwave test and measurement equipment such as digital oscilloscopes, TDR modules, 4-port network analyzers, vision system measurement devices
  • Experience using SAP
