WATG is hiring a Business Development Manager for our office in Los Angeles, CA.

ROLE

The Business Development Manager for Senior Living and Multi-Family Residential is responsible for new business and actively sustaining and enhancing business development in the multi-family and senior living sectors and adjacent markets such as mixed-use urban projects. This position will also include nurturing existing WATG relationships. The Business Development Manager partners with senior leadership and the Senior Director, Client Services, to plan, design, and implement strategies to secure clients and projects. This role focuses on operators, asset management firms, REITs, private equity and developers, and works collaboratively with leadership to meet regional business goals and targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Works with the Managing Director and senior leadership to execute annual strategic business plans
  • Identifies new business opportunities, creates strategic pursuit plans and works to cultivate existing clients and open the door to new clients for all service lines
  • Conducts market research on trends, clients, services, and marketplaces

Project Pursuits

  • Manages the delivery of qualification submittals to prospects, including all pertinent information on the firm and its capabilities
  • Participates in selected client presentations and interviews and prepares collateral materials, PowerPoint presentations, and appropriate leave-behinds
  • Assists in collating information and provides graphic design support in the production of proposals
  • Proposes standards and quality checks, outgoing marketing and business development correspondence, proposals, and pre-qualifications as appropriate
  • Assists and coordinates business development efforts with the Senior Director of Business Development

Prospect Development

  • Screens incoming leads, establishes relationships with potential clients and obtains client history and project profiles
  • Identifies appropriate marketing letters and packets to potential prospects that communicate WATG’s approach in both written and graphic form
  • Assembles and sends outgoing sales packages to clients customized to their needs, highlighting WATG’s brand, design talent, and relevant experience, providing value-added components to strengthen the package’s impact
  • Provides research and analysis as requested by senior leaders and the Senior Director of Business Development
  • Assists with the Go/No-Go decision-making process by providing relevant background information and recommendations
  • Identifies and implements strategic lead-generation activities
  • Collaborates with the Senior Director of Business Development in the execution of regional business development strategies

Coordination

  • Coordinates tracking business development opportunities, prospects, and proposals and generates appropriate business development reports
  • Coordinates and contributes to office-specific business development tasks
  • Develops strong relationships with senior leaders while coordinating and monitoring prospects, proposals, and client activities
  • Supports the Senior Director of Business Development in the execution of regional business development strategies
  • Maintains close communication with other WATG offices to facilitate that the most suitable senior leader is assigned to follow up on the strategic pursuit of an incoming lead
  • Works with the firmwide Business Development team to ensure marketing and business development materials remain up to date
  • Collaborates with the Business Development Operations Manager to ensure the implementation of business development tools, resources, and software remains up-to-date and aligned with business needs
  • Supervises and trains the regional Business Development Coordinator(s) so they can perform their work to a high quality and follow business development processes efficiently

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 8 years of business developmentexperiencein a professional services environment
  • Proven commercial and business development acumen and intimate knowledge of the tourism and hospitality sectors
  • Demonstrated consultative and relationship-building skills that operate in a fully collaborative manner
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access
  • Experienced in multimedia and creative software tools, including Adobe Creative Suite
  • Effective communicator with excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Proven leadership, emotional maturity, and organizational effectiveness
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients

    JOB INFORMATION

    Salary range: $100,000 to $120,000 per year
