A highly respected local Contractor is seeking a Superintendent with a strong background in excavation, earthwork, and site development to join a well-established contractor in the Nashville market. This individual will be responsible for managing field operations, coordinating crews and equipment, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on schedule, and to quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:Oversee daily field operations for excavation, grading, and dirt work projects.
Manage and schedule crews, subcontractors, and equipment resources.
Enforce safety standards and ensure compliance with company policies and OSHA regulations.
Monitor productivity, quality, and project progress, addressing challenges proactively.
Collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and clients to maintain project goals and timelines.
Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to field teams.
Maintain accurate daily reports and documentation.
Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in excavation, earthwork, or dirt work operations.
Proven experience as a Superintendent in sitework, grading, or heavy civil construction.
Strong leadership and communication skills with the ability to manage crews effectively.
Solid understanding of construction safety practices and compliance.
Ability to read and interpret plans, specs, and project documents.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
