Your impact
Jacobs' Jackson, MS team seeks a Construction Manager who wants to make a difference in their community through solving the exciting construction challenges facing Jacobs' clients. We are looking for a highly motivated Construction Manager to work on a variety of water and wastewater projects. This position works under the leadership of our senior construction manager, helping to provide construction management services, assisting with constructability reviews and project bid phase development, performing construction site observation, providing construction progress and schedule reviews, and assisting with equipment/facility startups and construction project closeout.
The role is anticipated to include both field inspection for construction services and in-office construction administration tasks. Serving as a key team member on the construction management support team, you will oversee a variety of construction projects, assist with construction project documentation, and support engineering design staff, operations and maintenance staff, and our clients as you engage in projects from concept through construction completion. Our senior construction manager and project/program managers are committed to strong mentorship and providing opportunities to work independently and with peers. You should be a self-motivated professional with a desire to grow personally as well as professionally with each project while delivering transformative projects for our clients, in our diverse and fast-paced office.
Responsibilities include
Serve as lead construction manager on some projects while supporting teams in other projects.
Work with the senior construction manager as an integral part of the construction team.
Prepare field observation review reports, change proposals, progress meeting agendas/summaries, verify quality assurance and control implementation, review and recommend pay applications, progress schedule review, assist with claims review and responses, and review submittals while fielding construction-related questions and keeping the owner informed of the project status.
Conduct site visits to perform construction observation.
Organize and track construction project performance and documentation to ensure our teams are tracking construction projects properly and maintaining required documentation.
Review vendor information to assure compliance with specifications.
Participate with engineering teams in the preparation of reports, studies, and calculations.
Here's what you'll need
- B.S. in Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or related construction management or engineering discipline.
- 7+ years of relevant experience.
- Knowledge of the use of construction management software such as ProjectSite.
- Strong data analysis and technical problem-solving.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Outgoing and positive attitude, dependable, and committed to meet all assigned project deadlines.
- Self-motivated, team-oriented, organized, and able to successfully multitask.
Ideally, you'll also have
- Experience in construction in the water and wastewater industry.
- Certified Associate Construction Manager (CACM), Certified Construction Manager (CCM), PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP), or similar certifications.
- Proficiency in the use of construction management software such as ProjectSite.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $120,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
