Equipment Operator II (Tandem Axle Dump Truck)

PURPOSE AND NATURE OF WORK

Position operates a tandem axle dump truck in the repair and maintenance of wastewater collection lines and manholes, drainage projects, street projects, water distribution projects or related, depending on area of assignment.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Some experience in the operation of trucks or equipment similar to those described herein, or any equivalent combination of training and experience is desired. Position(s) operate a manual transmission or an automatic transmission vehicle, depending on area of assignment. A few of the vacancies are manual transmission vehicles.

NECESSARY SPECIAL QUALIFICATIONS

Possession of the appropriate class Commercial Driver's License and endorsements as issued by the State of Louisiana. Applicants must have at least a valid Commercial Driver's License or CDL permit to apply and test, but must obtain a Louisiana Class A CDL with airbrake, combination and/or tanker endorsements, prior to appointment.

TYPE OF EXAMINATION

Testing will be a performance test on the tandem dump truck using manual and/or automatic transmission.
