Work Schedule: 8am-5pm

Remote Work Eligible: Yes (20 days per year)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Senior Cost Estimator to lead and support all aspects of the pre-construction process, from early client engagement and detailed estimating to RFP development, competitive bidding, and seamless procurement through to project handoff. This is a high-impact role where your expertise will directly shape project success and client satisfaction. Your expertise will be key to turning ideas into reality. Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, manage and lead concept cost estimates from minimal design information or concept renders and priced.
  • Prepare, manage and lead detailed cost estimate, including all architectural, civil and structural trades (MEPS preferred) including full quantity takeoff and pricing of unit rates.
  • Prepare cost exercises and prices as needed to support pre-construction activities.
  • Prepare and manage full general conditions estimates and analysis on a cash flow basis with provided CM staffing levels and schedule.
  • Manage GC lump, Cost Plus, Lump Sum bids from RFP through to bid award.
  • Prepare, manage and lead scope documents by trade including project specific scope and information and PO's during leveling and procurement.
  • Attend pre-bid site walk-throughs and site evaluations for existing conditions scope and qualifications.
  • Experience in bidding open shop, PLA, prevailing wage and union projects.
  • Able to stay up to date and relevant with industry and market trends.
  • Assist subcontractors to confirm scope by reviewing plans and specifications.
  • Outreach to manufacturers to confirm product specifications and relay back to the subcontractors through the RFI process.
  • Evaluate and level subcontractor bid proposals, including interviewing and negotiating with subcontractors as needed.
  • Manage subcontractor relationships for specific bids and projects and engage in developing new subcontractor relationships.
  • Prepare, manage and lead recommendation packages for review, approval and submission.
  • Represent the firm in front of clients, developers and design consultants in project interviews, meetings, calls, including communicating accurately, bid estimate and project information.
  • Provide guidance and direction to less experienced team members to direct and supports deliverables in a timely manner.

  • Time Management - Ability to utilize the available time to organize, prioritize multiple tasks and projects, to complete deliveries within given deadlines.

IT / Software Experience:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Excel.
  • Advanced proficiency in estimating software such as Construct X, Cost X, Togel, Plan Grid, OST.
  • Advanced proficiency in bid software such as Building Connected, Procore.

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, quantity surveying or related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in cost estimating.
  • Ability to work in the US. CWC does not have the ability to sponsor visas.
  • Experience in out of the ground projects, mixed-use, and residential sectors.

Preferred:

  • Membership of the RICS, AACE and/or ASPE preferred.
  • Experience in education, interiors and health sectors is a bonus.
  • Experience using Revit, BIM.

Work Environment: Office environment with some field visits
