Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Performs all duties and activities in a manner that conforms to site specific safety requirements, company policy, state and federal regulations.
- Diagnose malfunctioning components and equipment in an expeditious manner
- Repair malfunctioning and down equipment.
- Conduct preventive maintenance by inspecting, lubricating, replacing and/or adjusting equipment and components.
- Completes reports and records of repair and maintenance activities, work orders and inspections.
- Installs new installations in compliance with acceptable electrical practices and in compliance with the respective regulations as directed. Maintain proper face ventilation both permanent and temporary controls.
- Load and unload materials and supplies as required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Able to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics.
- Process the ability to communicate well verbally and in writing.
- Familiar with the job procedures necessary to complete task in a safe manner.
- Should be able to cut and weld.
- Familiar with the machinery and equipment's function and operation.
- Know the Safe Job Procedures, Standard Operating Procedures, company safety policies, and applicable rules and regulations.
Working Environment/Physical Activities:
The operator must constantly be attentive to the changing geological conditions and surrounding environment.
Education, Qualifications and Training:
Underground coal miner's certificate
Annual 8-hour refresher training
On-the-job experience
Vocational training (optional)
Other qualifications as required by contract, regulations, and/or management.
