We're looking for a proactive, people-focused Safety Manager who is passionate about protecting others and fostering a safety-first mindset across the entire organization. In this role, you will develop, coordinate, and implement occupational health policies and procedures that ensure safe, efficient, and compliant operations. You'll collaborate closely with our Safety Director and HR team to make sure that all Dee Cramer employees understand and follow the safety policies and procedures that keep everyone protected and productive.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be a go-to resource for employees with questions or concerns about workplace health and safety
- Identify and coordinate with occupational health clinics for non-emergency incident
- Maintain and monitor logs of injuries and near-misses.
- Cultivate a companywide safety culture through safety training programs and behavioral safety initiatives
- Partner with Sales, Estimating, Project Management, Shop, Field, and Service teams on safety requirements prior to and upon award of contracts.
- Complete and submit all required safety documentation (PTPs, SDS, JHAs, Certifications)
- Serve as liaison with MIOSHA, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations
- Conduct random job site inspections and audits to identify and address hazards
- Work with the Safety Director and HR Manager to support return-to-work efforts in the event of an injury.
- Conduct safety orientations for all new hires
- Provide coaching and recommend disciplinary action when necessary
- Ensure Dee Cramer is compliant with all Federal, State, and Local regulations.
- Assist Dee Cramer in achieving our corporate goal of zero recordable accidents.
- All other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in health and safety, Safety Engineering, Environmental Health, or a related field is required.
- A minimum of 3 years of Occupational Health & Safety experience in a Construction environment is required.
OR
- If a candidate does not possess the two required fields above, they are required to have at least 10 years of Sheet Metal leadership experience.
Physical Demands & Travel Requirements
- Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods
- Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 lbs
- Comfortable conducting walk-throughs and inspections on job sites (indoors and outdoors)
- Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time for jobsite visits and meetings (some overnight travel may be required for conferences)
