Formerly known as Rayco Manufacturing, and now part of the Alamo Group Snow & Ice Team, we manufacture heavy duty snow and ice removal equipment.

The Powder Coat Painter hangs and removes parts from the paint line monorail. Moves, selects, organizes and prepares parts before and after the powder painting process. Reviews lists and inspect parts for correct sequence. Fastens and secures parts to ensure that they are safely painted through the powder coating process. Spray paint parts in accordance to paint specifications. Organize and maintain all parts in their correct designated area before and after the painting process. Works under the general demand of the assembly departments through work orders. Operates heavy machinery for the purpose of safely transporting products from and to the powder coating area.

Essential Functions of the Job:

Prepare parts for the paint process (apply masking tape and clean paint surface).

Works safely in all aspects of daily duties and assignments with safe work procedures and practice good housekeeping to ensure safety of self and others.

Hang and fasten parts into the painting conveyor system.

Inspect parts for missing welds, weld splatter, weld quality prior to sending units into paint system.

Retrieve parts that will be needed for powder painting.

Ensure correct products and quantities enter and exit the conveyor system.

Meet painting needs for all assembly departments.

Ensure quality control in all parts before and after the painting process.

Transport heavy materials using cranes, jacks and other equipment.

Perform any other duties which may be assigned by supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSA's):

Capable of performing standard measurements using geometric tools (Tape Measure, Protractor, etc.)

Basic math and reading skills needed.

Must be able to read and use paint tools (sander, scraper, tape, etc.)

Minimum dexterity required for use of hand and power tool.

Ability to operate under pressure.

Ability to distinguish colors and surface imperfections.

Close vision required for detailed work and inspections.

Ability to lift, push or pull 40 pounds independently and more than 40 pounds with assistance.

Required standing and/or walking for full shift required. Frequent bending, stooping and lifting

Must have good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Education and Experience:

Previous work experience in a manufacturing environment.

Minimum of two years' experience in a similar role; powder coating and/or wet paint process.

High School diploma or GED desired.

Working Conditions:

Must be able to stand approximately 8-10 hours per day on concrete flooring.

Frequent walking between workstations, ovens and material storage areas.

Frequent reaching above shoulder height and below waist level.

Regular bending, squatting, kneeling and twisting during part prep and coating.

Must be able to stoop and reach around on a constant basis. Occasional use of ladders or steps stools to reach tall hanging racks or equipment.

Must be able to work in a non-climate-controlled manufacturing plant environment

Must be able to see, hear, speak and use hand and fingers to use tools and equipment

Follow safety procedures, including proper PPE use, including a respirator, gloves and coveralls.

Exposure to airborne powders, fumes, heat (from ovens) and occasional noise.

Tolerance to working in areas with ventilation systems and sometimes confined spaces.
