Based in Earth City, Missouri, this role offers the chance to work on high-impact projects that shape the backbone of energy delivery. You'll collaborate with experts across engineering, field services, and digital transformation to retrofit and upgrade critical power assets. Whether you're designing mechanical modifications or integrating smart monitoring systems, your work will directly support the resilience and modernization of the energy sector.
This position includes up to 20% travel, giving you the opportunity to engage directly with field teams and see your engineering solutions in actionwhere they matter most.
How You'll Make an Impact
Create high-quality CAD drawings and bill of materials for transformer retrofits
Design mechanical solutions for field modifications and digital integrations
Support field service teams with technical documentation and engineering guidance
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver timely and cost-effective solutions
industry standards (IEEE, IEC, NEMA) to ensure compliance and quality
Innovate retrofit designs for bushings, LTCs, pumps, radiators, and gauges
Contribute to digital upgrades like CoreSense and CoreTec installations
Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines
Your Background
A bachelor's degree in engineering with one or more years of transformer experience, or a combination of studies and five years or more of transformer experience
Proficiency in CREO or AutoCAD
Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and NEMA standards
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 and technical documentation
Strong attention to detail and collaborative mindset
Excellent communication skills across teams and stakeholders
Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States
