We are looking for a Maintenance Mechanic/PLC Technician to join us to support our Maintenance Department.

SUMMARY

Performs some predictive and preventative maintenance as assigned by maintenance supervisor. Troubleshoot, test and assist in repairs to mechanical and electrical equipment collaboratively with maintenance techs. Overhauls various types of electro/mechanical equipment. Fabricate and install equipment for upgrades and modernization utilizing latest technology for servo motors and high-speed gearboxes. Provide technical assistance and advice to production employees to facilitate performance of routine machine operation. Communication and transfer of information between operations and maintenance daily. Perform all tasks in a high quality and cost-effective manner by performing the following duties. Must be willing to teach and train employees as assigned by maintenance supervisor.

D ay Shift : Mon. - Fri., 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The essential duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Provide programming expertise on new products and technology.

Provide programming expertise and control system design.

Programming and support of these systems (PLCs, Siemens drives and controllers).

Programming HMI (Touch Screen) related products.

Provide wireless network assistance in cooperation with our I.T. department.

Provide exceptional customer support to operations and maintenance.

Lead automation projects and upgrades.

Receives work orders and/or instructions covering scheduled or unscheduled maintenance.

Provides labor hours and material cost estimates as required. Notes any requirements for special equipment or materials.

Provides feedback to engineering on accuracy of drawings and planning documents.

Recommends improvements to current work practices, equipment or tools to reduce equipment down time and/or maintenance costs. Assists lead person, supervisor and/or engineering personnel in developing new methods and techniques.

Properly prepares and submits paperwork to procure parts, materials or outside services, as necessary to affect repairs, or perform planned maintenance, overhauls, upgrades or installations.

Maintains proper and complete documentation of all equipment maintenance and assigned projects.

Assist with Root Cause Analysis and implementation of effective countermeasures as applicable.

Advises the maintenance supervisor and relevant production personnel when immediate, unplanned shut down of equipment is necessary. While providing best estimate of return to service.

Repairs and adjusts equipment for proper operating characteristics. Makes temporary repairs, when safe to do so, and schedules planned equipment shut down to effect permanent repairs.

Performs some mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, repairs on hydraulic, pneumatic, and systems throughout the plant.

Thoroughly understands and completely complies with relevant OSHA safety standards.

Works safely with various hazardous materials, chemicals and combustibles.

Performs other duties as assigned by maintenance manager, supervisor or lead.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

Associate's degree (A. A.) with a minimum of five years maintenance experience. Possesses sufficient mathematical ability to work with decimal or fractional numbers in standard metric or US units of measure. Able to use various precision measuring devices to check values and dimensions against allowable tolerances. Able to read prints, schematics, diagrams, and drawings accurately. Is familiar with common standard drawings conventions and symbols. Has a basic knowledge of electrical equipment and is able to perform minor electrical maintenance. Has working knowledge of wiring, cutting and soldering. Able to troubleshoot, repair, overhaul and install a variety of manufacturing equipment and components. Have basic knowledge of hydraulic systems. May have equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
