Lead HVAC Installer Job Description We are seeking a skilled sheet metal installer to join our team in the HVAC Heating and Cooling industry, focusing on fabricating and building ductwork in new and renovation commercial buildings. This role involves bending, joining, hammering, and cutting sheet metal, creating ductwork on-site, and installing it according to construction documents. While you will work from blueprints, reading them is not required. The job requires travel up to 40 miles from Grand Rapids, and personal protective equipment (PPE) and a basic tool belt are necessary. If you lack these, we can assist in acquiring them. Responsibilities Install HVAC ductwork in commercial buildings. Create and install ductwork on-site according to construction documents. Travel to job sites up to 40 miles from Grand Rapids. Collaborate with other trades and team members to accomplish daily goals. Lead and train apprentices in installation techniques. Essential Skills 3-5 years of experience in HVAC duct installation. 3-5 years of commercial building experience. Ability to read blueprints. Reliable transportation to project sites. Possession of personal hand tools: hammer, tape measure, screwdrivers, and cutters. Additional Skills & Qualifications Knowledge of service HVAC systems and controls. Ability to troubleshoot problems on existing equipment. 3+ years of leadership experience with apprentices and training. Why Work Here? Work Environment Work in a dynamic construction-based environment on 1st shift, starting at 6 am and ending between 2 and 3 pm. Shifts are 8-9 hours long, and the specific start time depends on the project. PPE such as steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, reflective vest, and basic sheet metal tools are required, with additional tools provided as needed. Projects are located in Battle Creek, Holland, Muskegon, and Comstock, working around other trades while production continues. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
