Job Description Position Purpose: The Project Engineer-Mechanical is responsible for oversight of Veolia construction projects. This position will be dedicated to supporting large construction activities in the US and Canada. This individual will provide direct daily support to a large construction project in Gum Springs, Arkansas in the near term and additional projects as business needs change over time. Primary objectives of the role include: Provide construction project team with field engineering support for construction activities. Assists in the coordination of both design and construction activities at the site. Works with existing operations team and on-site contractors to ensure that work is properly coordinated and done safely. Works to create a collaborative work environment. Manages document control library of all pertinent construction documentation, drawing updates. Primary Duties/Responsibilities: Coordinating with vendors to ensure that materials are delivered on time and within budget. Preparing estimates for labor costs, materials costs, and equipment costs to determine project budgets. Ensuring that safety procedures are followed during construction to prevent injuries or damage to property. Meeting with clients to discuss project details and requirements, such as materials needed or design specifications. Drafting detailed construction plans, including diagrams of mechanical systems and layouts of machinery rooms or buildings. Reviewing blueprints and design drawings to ensure conformance to industry standards. Coordinating with architects and contractors to ensure that designs meet legal and regulatory requirements. Providing technical support to construction crews during the building phase of projects. Identifying potential risks and developing plans to mitigate them. Completes technical studies Prepares cost estimates. Maintain records of and manages/approves contractor change requests and works to resolve issues with mechanical design. Maintains project schedule by monitoring project progress, coordinating activities, and resolving problems. Prepares project status reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends and recommending actions. Maintains a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations Maintains project database Maintains product and company reputation by complying with federal and state regulations. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers and specialized engineering equipment such as plotters. Work Environment: Able to travel globally. This position will require work in an office and a construction site/industrial facility environment. Ability to work in extreme climate conditions (rain, wind, snow, ice, heat). Qualifications Education/Experience/Background: Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Construction or equivalent. A minimum of 5 years of experience in Construction. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Strong analytical skills and process focus. Tenacity and energy in leading change toward a high performing work environment. Design and analytical skills as normally attained through education and field experience. Auto CAD proficiency. Ability to influence and coach others for results. Problem-solving skills and follow-up ability. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to understand and use reference materials (manuals, schematics, etc.). Strong problem solving and project management skills. Proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment). Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate, effective, complete and easily understood written communications and reports. Demonstrated commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Code of Business Conduct and other Company policies and procedures. Required Certification/Licenses/Training: OSHA - Industrial safety recognition and management (hot work, confined space, shoring and trenching, LOTO, fall protection, JSA others as needed). Valid Driver's license and safe driving record. Physical Requirements: Ability to stay on feet for several hours during the day, walking through construction site. Ability to lift up to 75 pounds occasionally Ability to climb ladders, climb on equipment. Ability to pass a respirator fit test and maintain certification annually, work with a respirator as required. Ability to work in a confined space (with proper training and safe work practices). Ability to work above grade. Additional Information Pay Range: $90000 to $110000 per year.
