Position Overview We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bridge Saw Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. The Bridge Saw Operator will be responsible for safely and efficiently cutting stone slabs according to job specifications, maintaining equipment, and supporting overall shop workflow. The ideal candidate will have experience operating various saws and machinery within a manufacturing facility. This role requires a strong understanding of precision measuring instruments and the ability to read blueprints effectively. The Saw Operator will play a crucial role in ensuring that materials are cut accurately and efficiently, contributing significantly to the overall production process. Responsibilities Operate bridge saws to cut granite, quartz, and marble slabs to precise measurements. Read and interpret job tickets, drawings, specifications, and templates. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and adjustments on machinery. Utilize overhead cranes and forklifts to safely move stone slabs and finished pieces. Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy meets finish standards. Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment. Accurately record job data; communicate with supervisors regarding production or equipment issues. Follow all shop safety protocols and procedures diligently. Qualifications Proven experience in a manufacturing environment with saw operation expertise. Familiarity with CNC programming, CAD software (such as SolidWorks), or CAM programming is preferred. Experience with various tools including hand tools, press brake machines, stamping presses, or CNC milling machines is advantageous. High school diploma or GED preferred; relevant certifications are a plus. 2+ years of stone fabrication or machine operation experience preferred (but willing to train motivated candidates with mechanical aptitude). Ability to read measurements accurately; proficiency in basic math skills is essential. Experience operating forklifts or overhead cranes; willingness to train if necessary. Strong attention to detail coupled with quality craftsmanship mindset. Reliable, punctual team player who can adapt in fast-paced environments. Ability to lift 50+ lbs. regularly; capable of standing on concrete floors for extended periods. Training Opportunities We offer comprehensive training programs on the latest bridge saw equipment that features tilting capabilities for easy positioning while cutting granite or marble slabs. Training will also include hands-on instruction on precision measuring tools used in countertop fabrication. Additionally, we provide opportunities for skill enhancement through workshops focused on advanced techniques in CNC programming as well as safety protocols related to operating heavy machinery. Compensation Competitive hourly pay - commensurate with experience level. Overtime opportunities available based on workload demands.
