Operations Manager – Window & Millwork Manufacturer

We’re looking for an Operations Manager to oversee the full scope of our window and millwork operations. This role will manage people, processes, and product flow across the service department, installation crews, logistics, warehouse, and procurement. The goal is to keep jobs moving smoothly from sales through service and installation while maintaining quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and manage the operations team, including project coordinators, warehouse staff, service technicians, and installation crews.

  • Oversee the service department to make sure customer issues are handled quickly and professionally.

  • Manage scheduling, order verification, workload balancing, and job completion for all projects.

  • Recruit, train, and manage subcontracted installers and service techs to maintain high-quality standards and adequate staffing.

  • Take ownership of ordering and procurement, making sure materials are purchased on time, costs are negotiated, and supplies are where they need to be.

  • Direct warehouse operations, inventory management, organization, and ensuring accurate distribution of materials to job sites.

  • Coordinate logistics to keep products moving efficiently between vendors, warehouses, and job sites.

  • Be the escalation point for customer concerns, handling follow-ups and troubleshooting to protect our reputation and keep customers happy.

  • Monitor department expenses, assist with collections, and hold the team accountable for performance and financial goals.

  • Work closely with the sales team and art department to resolve job issues and keep everyone aligned.

  • Conduct site inspections to confirm installations and service work meet safety requirements and Pella standards.

  • Continuously look for ways to streamline processes, improve productivity, and strengthen teamwork.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Proven management experience, ideally in construction, manufacturing, or the window/door industry.

  • Strong leadership skills to guide teams in service, logistics, warehouse, and installation.

  • Hands-on management style, willing to step in, roll up your sleeves, and get involved when needed.

  • Experience with ordering, procurement, and vendor negotiation.

  • Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues and develop recovery plans.

  • Financial accountability, able to manage budgets, track performance, and hold the team to goals.

  • Organizational and time management skills to prioritize and execute multiple projects.

  • Familiarity with windows, doors, installation, and service processes along with safety standards.

  • Comfortable using technology for scheduling, logistics, and tracking (SAP experience is a plus).
