Project Tech/Mechanic - Engineering Dept - Full Time

Job Summary:

Assigned the most involved and challenging repairs to Engineering systems and equipment. Also assigned construction and renovation projects within the Health System as a part of the in-house construction team. Reviews construction design documents and recommends changes that will improve life cycle costs of the equipment and systems.

Education:

Required:

High school diploma or GED required.

Preferred:

Experience preferred in steam systems and applications.

Four years in commercial/institutional construction as plumber, or mechanic.

Position Requirement(s): License/Certification/Registration

Required:

Mechanic or Plumber's license recognized by the City of Chattanooga. HVAC Certification or

equivalent, Industrial Maintenance Certification or equivalent, and Professional Locksmith

Certification, Medical Gas Certification (Brazing).

Department Position Summary:

Good working team member, capable of repairing any and all equipment/systems within this trade. Must be able to work cooperatively and productively on a construction site. Knowledge of and ability to use wide assortment of tools required for in-house construction. Capable of reading construction documents and constructing as specified. Maintains licensure in specific craft. Able to work effectively in crisis situations.
