Position Title: Silicon Design Engineer

Work Location: Austin, TX

Job Duties: Research, design, develop, and/or test electronic components and systems for semiconductor and related device manufacturing, employing knowledge of electronic theory. Perform definition, design, verification, and/or documentation for ASIC development. Determine architecture design, logic design, and/or system simulation. Define module interfaces/formats for simulation. Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving the layout of complex integrated circuits. Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Work on problems of moderate scope where analysis of situations or data requires a review of a variety of factors. Under limited supervision, exercise judgment within defined company procedures and practices to select methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment, as well as knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles. Apply knowledge of engineering principles, best practices, and technologies to the design, development, and testing of various AMD products.

Requirements: Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field and one (1) year of experience in the job offered or closely related engineering role.

Position requires one (1) year of experience in the following:

1. Design for test (DFT) concepts and implementation;

2. C, C++, or Python;

3. Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL;

4. Logic and circuit design;

5. EDA or CAD tools;

6. RTL design or coding;

7. Design flows and methodologies used for chip verification;

8. ASIC design tools (synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis); and

9. Unix or Linux environments.
