Position: Electrical Engineer
Location: Irvine, CA On-site
Position Description:
The Electrical Engineer in this position will be responsible for a wide gamut of electrical engineering tasks including system design, payload integration, PCBA design, harness design, electrical testing and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills and be able to work well both on an individual basis and in a team environment. The candidate must be able to function and communicate in an interdisciplinary team (Aero, Mechanical, Software, etc.). The Associate Electrical Engineer reports to the Electrical Engineering Manager, while working directly with Vehicle Technical Leads and Program Managers.
Required Skills/ Qualifications:
- Fundamental understanding of Electrical Engineering principles
- Practical knowledge of electrical components (such as harnesses, sensors, instrumentations, connectors, wires, microcontrollers and batteries)
- Ability to architecture and design Electrical System
- Experience in small to medium size teams in an advanced development environment with proven interpersonal skills and teamwork
- Proven record to characterize, analyze, test, and troubleshoot electrical systems
- Hands-on experience with electrical components and assemblies
- Disciplined to document designs and analyses with written reports, presentations, and Engineering drawings
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and through writing
- Ability to create and follow standard processes
- Ability to read, understand and interpret technical information (e.g., drawings, handbooks, industry standards, and specifications)
- Electrical design using CAD software
Preferred Skills/Qualifications:
- Hands-on experience with soldering / harness building / testing PCBA boards
- Experience in designing and building robotic and aircraft systems
- Military and/or UAV experience
- Familiarity with MIL spec hardware and harnessing standards
- AIAA Design Build Fly (DBF) experience
- Formula SAE experience
- Strong listening, questioning, clarifying and summarizing skills to effectively communicate in one-on-one and small group settings
Responsibilities:
- Apply engineering principles to generate comprehensive outputs, such as drawings, reports, test plans, calculations, estimates, presentations, work instructions, and schematics, which can be effectively utilized by downstream operations including Manufacturing, Procurement, Quality Assurance, Planning, Program Management and Financials.
- Communicates engineering findings to technical and non-technical individuals in a manner that can be processed by the receiving parties.
- Builds any hardware and software necessary for the completion of the System in hands-on manner, as required
- Mentors Associate Engineers within the discipline area, providing technical guidance and support, and provide constructive feedback to mentee on projects and work.
- Provides suggestions to Associate Engineers on work procedures and ethical practices, encouraging adherence to company standards and promoting a professional work environment
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering
- 1+ years professional experience as Electrical Engineer
Travel:
- Some travel required

- Must have the ability to stand, climb, occasionally lift a minimum of 25 lbs.
- Regularly required to crouch and reach to install/move equipment by bending forward at the waist or by bending legs and spine
- Involves movement between departments, floors, and worksites to facilitate work.
- May be performing physical activities including, but not limited to, heavy lifting and moving of items, climbing in and out of equipment, crawling, and working outdoors.
Other Requirements:
It is an essential requirement for the person in this role to have a legal right to work in the United States and be eligible to obtain any required Export Authorization and DoD Clearance.
Salary: $90 - $110K
Salary depends on relevant work experience, education, training, essential skills, and/or other factors such as specialized or high-demand professions. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible for an annual bonus. The pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of salary or $annual bonus.

Pay Range: $100,000 - $125,000 per year
