This is a skilled leadership role responsible for organizing, developing, and overseeing construction operations for Idaho Materials & Construction within the Treasure Valley region of Idaho. The individual in this position will manage a wide range of functions related to field operations, ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and in alignment with company standards.
The role requires a strategic mindset, strong operational expertise, and the ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across multiple job sites. Success in this position hinges on the ability to balance day-to-day execution with long-term planning, while fostering a culture of safety, performance, and continuous improvement.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Duties and Functions
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing construction operations across the Treasure Valley region, ensuring excellence in safety, performance, and team development.
Safety & Environmental Stewardship
- Champion safety and environmental compliance across all sites in Ada, Canyon, and neighboring counties.
- Promote a culture of safety through proactive leadership and continuous improvement.
Leadership & Staff Development
- Mentor and monitor staff, serving as a coach and role model.
- Inspire and motivate teams to achieve peak performance across all business areas.
- Oversee recruitment, selection, training, coaching, and retention of personnel.
Operational Oversight
- Direct daily estimating and construction operations, including equipment scheduling, manpower allocation, and trucking coordination.
- Manage superintendents, estimators, and project managers across grading and paving disciplines.
- Ensure adherence to best practices, performance tools, and scorecards to drive quality and efficiency.
Scheduling & Resource Management
- Maintain backlog reporting for asphalt, aggregate, liquid asphalt, and crew production days.
- Populate and manage long-term scheduling plans.
- Assist in project scheduling, resource allocation, cost projections, and billing.
- Actively participate in weekly coordination meetings.
Documentation & Communication
- Organize and archive project and personnel correspondence related to safety, incidents, claims, and quality assurance.
- Facilitate clear communication across teams and stakeholders.
Financial & Strategic Management
- Contribute to budget creation and management to meet and exceed financial targets.
- Ensure operations align with company standards in safety, quality, ethics, community relations, and profitability.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to resolve construction challenges and improve work procedures.
Additional Duties
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.
Qualifications

Education & Experience
- High school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of 7 years of construction-related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Proven experience in construction operations, scheduling, and supervisory roles.
Technical Knowledge
- Strong understanding of industry standards, project specifications, and interpretation of plan set drawings.
- Ability to apply technical knowledge to ensure compliance, efficiency, and quality throughout project execution.
