Controls Installation Technician

Duties include but not limited to:

• Layout and install electrical and pneumatic control systems for custom machines and tooling
• Inspect and verify function of control systems
• Coordinate with supervisor and team to ensure job schedule is maintained
• Assist in mechanical assembly of machines and tooling
• Assist in machine and tooling integration
• Assist in preparing machines and tooling for shipment
• Work with supervisor and team on various continuous improvement initiatives
• Maintain clean and orderly workspace

Skills & Requirements:

• Ability to operate basic shop equipment: metal band saw, hand drill, drill press, grinder, MIG welder, fork truck, ladder, scissor lift, etc.
• Familiar with personal computers, Windows 7, MS Excel, MS Word, etc.
• Ability to read and follow electrical and pneumatic diagrams
• Knowledge of control components and hardware: various pneumatic fittings, air line, conduit, J-boxes, PLC, relays, safety relays, light curtains, user interface panels, prox. switches, reed switches, etc.
• Basic MIG welding skills
• Ability to communicate well with customers, team members, management, etc.
• Ability and willingness to travel
• Minimum of an Associates Degree in Electrical Automation Technology or equivalent
