Requirements:

  • Perform preliminary walk around survey of plants crushing equipment. Identify maintenance problems, preventive maintenance items, worn equipment parts, emissions controls, and any housekeeping items Must be able to move levers to regulate flow of materials to and from conveyors, chutes, pumps, or storage bins.
  • Be completely capable of successfully initiating the entire plants start-up and shutdown process. Be capable of navigating through any number of computer screens in order to complete start-up, shutdowns, troubleshoot, retrieve reports, and electronically submit when the system allows for electronic communication. Ensures safety of crew members and public who may interact at jobsite.
  • Must be able to operate the Front End Loader in an Asphalt Plant environment.
  • Visually observe and monitor critical gauges and computer generated information in a way that maximizes plant productivity while preserving each asset associated with the crushing process.
  • Be capable of assisting in any preventive maintenance and plant repairs, including lubrications and the entire clean-up process.
  • Assist other operators or maintenance personnel when heavy or awkward duties are required.
  • Employee must be able to communicate with all levels of the organization about the plant, its components, needs, issues, and any enhancements that will provide additional efficiency gains. Must have the ability to provide accurate and timely information about the plants daily operating performance. Must be pro-active in troubleshooting, and maintain his work environment without a compromise to any required regulations, quality of products produced, or safe work practices.

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud. This position is performed in outside weather conditions

Physical Demands
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to use proper personal protection equipment. Use of sunscreen and long sleeves is recommended.

Required Education and Experience

Two (2) years experience as a front end loader required. Must be at least 18 years of age. Applicants must hold a Regular Operator (Class D) driving license. Applicant must have no felonies that are violent in nature and/or theft related in the last 7 years. Applicant must have reliable transportation to and from job site. High School Diploma or GED preferred
