Job Description: Summary

The Cost Control Manager/Scheduler plays a critical role in ensuring project success by developing and maintaining detailed schedules, tracking costs, and analyzing variances to support informed decision-making. This position bridges planning and financial oversight, working closely with project managers, estimators, and field teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and proactive in identifying risks and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and maintain project schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular schedule updates and forecasts to stakeholders.
  • Establish and manage cost control systems to track budgets, expenditures, and financial performance.
  • Analyze cost and schedule variances, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure alignment between schedule and cost data.
  • Prepare and present reports on schedule status, cost trends, and performance metrics.
  • Support change management processes by assessing schedule and cost impacts of proposed changes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements, and industry standards.
  • Participate in project reviews and audits to validate schedule and cost data integrity.
  • Assist in the development of resource-loaded schedules and cash flow projections.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Engineering or a related field and five (5) years of related post- bachelor's progressive work experience.
  • Must have five (5) years of experience with/in:
  • Construction and cost control management; and
  • Managing Design Build or Design Bid Build infrastructure construction projects at least $50 million in size.
Work Conditions/Physical Demands
  • Moderate physical activity performing somewhat strenuous daily activities of a primarily administrative nature. Some exposure to outdoors with changing weather conditions such as rain, sun, snow, and wind. Ability to physically maneuver by foot minor obstacles at construction projects
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to reach/handle items and work with the fingers
