Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Advanced Shipfitter with a minimum of four years of commercial or naval experience as a first-class Shipfitter The ideal candidate will have extensive skills in single pass tack welding, burning, heating, and the ability to read and comprehend complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches.
Responsibilities
Perform multi-pass tack welding using the Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) process.
Operate burning and heating equipment, specifically oxygen/propane burning torches.
Interpret complex structural assembly drawings, blueprints, and sketches, including weld symbols, material types, datum, and reference lines.
Comprehend fractional dimensions using a ruler and lay off piece parts for fabrication and assembly.
Assemble structural piece parts according to specifications with high-quality standards.
Work effectively in physically demanding environments such as shipbuilding or steel fabrication.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations relevant to the shipbuilding industry.
Utilize vibratory tools including grinders and needle guns.

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
