AtkinsRealis is seeking a Water Resources Engineer Intern Spring 2026 to join our Henderson, NV office.

Our Internship Program, Explore, is designed for college students pursuing a degree in a STEM field and provides opportunities to learn what its like to work in a professional environment and apply whats learned in class to the real-world challenges we face every day.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in performing routine engineering work on track to develop professional proficiency
- Assist in drainage evaluation and design for roadway and development projects
- Assist in flood assessments for urban and natural environments
- Support engineers with water resources projects and technical tasks
- Facilitate communication of design intent through engineering plans and documents for construction
- Contribute to the compilation of design data and the preparation of construction plans and documents
QUALIFICATIONS
- EXPERIENCE:
- No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
- EDUCATION:
- Must have completed 100+ hours towards a Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Spring 2026).
- Ideal candidate will be graduating at the end of the Spring 2026 semester
- SPECIAL SKILLS:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
- Goal and deadline oriented
- Self-motivated and willingness to learn
- Experience with HEC-HMS or HEC-RAS beneficial
- Interest in drainage design, flood analysis, and hydrologic and hydraulic analyses

Expected compensation range is between $25 - $31 hourly depending on skills, experience, and geographical location.
